July 4 Parade
The Highlands Ranch Community Association (HRCA) is celebrating Independence Day with its annual July 4th Community Parade. The parade began as a way to celebrate Highlands Ranch’s 20th Anniversary in 2001 and again for its 25th Anniversary in 2006. In 2007 the parade became an annual event marking our nation’s independence. Now the parade brings the patriotic spirit to thousands. Beginning at 8:30 a.m., members of the Highlands Ranch community will line the streets of Highlands Ranch to watch the Independence Day Parade. Ed Greene will announce again this year. After the parade, everyone is invited to continue the celebration with an afternoon into evening, at Highland Heritage Regional Park, of festivities including music, food, beer, contests, and ending the evening with a fireworks show (dependent on fire bans). Leading the parade will be the Family Pet and Bike Parade featuring decorated bikes, wagons, dogs, and children dressed up allowing the community’s littlest stars to show off their patriotic spirit. They will begin on the northern side of Town Center. From there, they will go south on Hepburn, east on Highlands Ranch Parkway and south on Dorchester into Town Center South and disperse in the Michael’s Store parking lot. Immediately following will be the Community Parade beginning in the Kaiser Permanente parking lot on Hepburn St. and will travel east on Highlands Ranch Parkway, south on Zotos, turning left onto Ridgeline, west on Monument Dr., then south on Barron’s Blvd., leading back to Highlands Ranch Parkway westbound, and dispersing on Hepburn St. in the Kaiser Permanente parking lot. The parade is truly a community parade. Entries include scout, church, and school groups, numerous nonprofit and service organizations, veteran’s groups, businesses, motorcycle and car clubs, and more! Street closures will be from 5:30 am to approximately 11:00 am on Monday, July 4 and will include: Highlands Ranch Parkway between Lucent and Broadway Barrons Blvd. from Monument to Highlands Ranch Parkway Monument Dr. Zotos Ridgeline Blvd. from Blake Dr. to Monument Ridgeline from Dorchester to Highlands Ranch Parkway Blake Dr. from Ridgeline Blvd. to Highlands Ranch Parkway For more information on the parade, parade maps, and entry forms, please visit HRCAonline.org/July4 or call 303-791-2500.
