Winter Cultural Series
The 2018 season of the Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Association's Winter Cultural Series promises to be a banner year for entertainment. Each year the Winter Cultural Series features a variety of modern, classical, and interpretive music and dance performances that are fun for the entire family. This year's lineup features talented entertainers; beginning with the award-winning Lamont Jazz Orchestra on Jan. 11. Returning for their second year, the LJO is a premier large jazz ensemble, performing original music by students and faculty as well as the standard canon of modern jazz literature. The series continues with Ballet Ariel performing Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, an original ballet based on the short story in Rudyard Kipling’s beloved classic Jungle Book, on Jan. 25. Feb. 8 brings the return of the Denver & District Pipe Band along with Irish and Highland Dancers. The series will close on Feb. 22 with Opera Colorado performing Cinderella. Inspired by the traditional fairytale, Rossini’s Cinderella, with a bit of a twist. Performances will be held in the Chapel at Cherry Hills Community Church, 3900 Grace Boulevard, Highlands Ranch, from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.; doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at door, if not sold out. Military/Senior (65+)/Child (12 under): $7 in advance, $10 at door, if not sold out. Seating is first-come, first-served. Children under 2 years are free if sitting on a parent’s lap.
