The Highlands Ranch Chamber is honored to recognize Women Who Soar in the Denver Metro Community. The women nominated INSPIRE us to be better leaders and are blazing the path for future generations. They have made a difference to us in our community and have positively impacted the lives of others.
Please join us for our first annual Women Who Soar Awards Luncheon on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018. This will take place at Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille at 11:30 am. This event is being hosted by the Women in Networking (WIN) which is a program of the Chamber of Commerce of Highlands Ranch.
This event will celebrate three exceptional women who have made a significant impact in the areas of Business, Non-Profit and the Community. Please join us in celebrating these three amazing women!
Allyson Mallory is the principal at Ralph Moody Elementary school in Littleton. On December 23rd, 2016 Allyson was paralyzed in a snowboarding accident at Keystone Resort. Since that day Allyson has shown an incredible amount of strength, determination, FIRE and courage. She is an amazing role model to the children at her school and our entire community.
Tamra Ryan is the CEO of Women’s Bean Project, a nationally-recognized social enterprise based in Denver, CO that provides transitional employment, while operating manufacturing businesses, to women attempting to break the cycle of chronic unemployment and poverty. Women’s Bean Project products can be found in nearly 1,000 stores across the country and online through some of the country’s largest retailers. Tamra is a former board member of Social Venture Partners-Denver, currently chairs the Board of Directors for the Social Enterprise Alliance and is on the advisory board for the Barton Institute for Philanthropy and Social Enterprise at the University of Denver. She was recently named one of the 2017 Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Colorado, was a speaker at TEDxMilehigh and is the author of The Third Law, a book which highlights the societal obstacles and internal demons that must be overcome for marginalized women to change their lives. The Third Law has won multiple awards for women/minorities in business and social activism. Tamra lives in Denver with her husband, two children and their golden doodle named Biscuit.
Diane Smethills, Principal, Sterling Ranch, LLC. Mrs. Smethills brings over 35 years of marketing, real estate development, finance, and implementation experience to the development of Sterling Ranch. After working for the American Broadcasting Company and National Geographic in New York City, she returned to her native Colorado and formed her own real estate company. Diane was instrumental in negotiating the purchase of the property underlying Sterling Ranch. Mrs. Smethills also served as Vice President of Marketing for The Trammell Crow Companies, where she worked with metropolitan districts as well as master planned communities. In addition, she was an appointee of President Ronald Reagan to the Federal Home Loan Bank Board of Topeka. Recently, she has managed a private real estate portfolio of Colorado properties including single family and multifamily rental units as well as ranch property.
